8 days from Marrakech to fes
Day 1: Marrakech – high atlas – Ait Benhadou – ouarzazate
I will pick you up at 9:00 am. passing through the Tizi-N-Tishka pass, we’ll make a quick stop at an argan cooperative, then we continue driving, reaching the highest point of the pass (2260m), maybe a stop for a picture or two may interest you in the high Atlas Mountains before continuing our way to the UNESCO world heritage site ¨Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah¨. A Kasbah is an ancient fortress that housed civilian residents and their protective armed force. Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou is a great example of the 17th-century architecture of southern Morocco, and it’s been the filming set of many world-class movies. Lunch will be served there, and then we head to Ouarzazate city; the Hollywood of Africa. In the evening, we move to our accommodation: riad/hotel.
Day 2: Ouarzazate –Boumalen Dades
After breakfast, our second journey will start at 9:00 am. We will visit the atlas studio which hosted many all-time bangers like Gladiator, Lawrence Of Arabia, Game Of Thrones, The mummy, alexander, and many more. Afterward, We will drive through many villages to Kallat Magouna city, which is well known for roses. We cross the valley of the roses and make a stop at roses cooperative to see how various products are produced of roses like shampoo, soap, perfume.. Then we continue to the next destination Dades Gorges across many Berber buildings that are scattered along the way .by the evening we arrive at our accommodation.
Day 3: Boumalen Dades -Todgha Gorges – Merzougua desert
After taking shower and breakfast, our journey will start at 9:00 am, many Berber buildings are scattered along the way till we get the first destination Todra Gorges; it’s a water canyon; it is one of the greatest destinations for Moroccan mountaineering enthusiasts. You will enjoy a walk around the river that runs abundantly between the gigantic mountains. Then we move to have lunch in Tinejdad city. After lunch we drive and make a very important stop at the Berber shop so that you get your turbans and souvenirs. Afterward we go straight to the Sahara desert of Merzouga where the camels owner will be waiting for you to be taken on an adventure in the sand dunes to an immaculate equipped camp .This camel trek is 1h:15 mins long. When you get there, an atmosphere of sunset is waiting . In addition to this, the golden dunes flatter both the sunset and the sunrise even more. Dinner will be held next to the tent where you’ll spend the night around an astonishing environment while stars are gleaming on the sky. During the night, you’ll enjoy a traditional Berber drum band.
Day 4 : Merzougua – Erg Chebbi – camel trekking
Today we will have a small tour around Erg-Chebbi sand dunes, we will start our off-road desert adventure by visiting a village of the dark skin people ( Khamlia village) , they are of various African origins . They got a band composed of 5 or more people playing Gnawa music by different instruments. In that village we’re going to have lunch (Berber Pizza). Then our destination will be in the village of the mines, along with the local nomadic Berber families who still live in the desert, and then we drive to the black desert (volcanic stones). We will go back to Merougua , and then you’ll be carried by camels or 4×4 back to the same camp. You are expected to be at the camp 45mins before the sunset then you go to enjoy Sand boarding and sunset.
Day 5 : 1 hour Quad bike ride on the dunes – climbing up by feet to the highest point of the highest sand’s mountain
Today at 9:30 am the owner of the camp will pick us up from the camp to the hotel where you can put your language in your room and then we go for an adventure of 1 hour Quad bike ride on the dunes , then we go back to the hotel to relax and have lunch .At 5pm we go again for an amazing adventure to go up the highest sand’s mountain (300 m) . We will definitely enjoy the beauty of the sunset from the top; this will be the last adventure in the desert. Then we go back to the hotel to have dinner and relax.
Day 6: Merzouga – Erissani traditional Market – Errachidia – Middle Atlas Montains – Midelt
Today we depart at 9:00 am towards Erissani Market wich is considered the old and traditional Market in Morocco , where we can enjoy a walk inside to discover most of the local products with wich the region is enriched such as dates, henna, spices… Afterwards we go to see the Market where Nomads families selling their animals like sheep, goats, donkey… After that we drive till we make our lunch stop in errachidia city. After lunch there are a lot of natural landscapes to discover including Ziz valley, Middle Atlas Mountains, Elhassan edakhil Dam wich is located directly after Errachidia city. We continue our way to midelt city; this city is much known for its apple production.
Day 7: Midelt – cedar forest – ifrane – fes .
After having breakfast, at 9:30 am we will Midelt city towards fes city ,we will drive to the cedar forest ( Apes habitat ) to see monkeys in astriking environment, then we leave the cedar forest passing throught Ifrane city ( you will be discovering one of the typical cities for both its cold whearter throughout the year and alpine architecture ) , then we head to fes city . we are expected to arrive in fes at 2 am. You will have a 30 mins break at your accommodation, then you start a tour around the city of fes with a local city guide, You’ll be visiting many interesting places. Begin with exploring one of the oldest living cities in Morocco and touring the souks (markets). Next, the gateway of the royal palace, and then Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque of the 9th century and Al-Qarawiyyin University which is the oldest building in the world, then the tomb of the city founder “Moulay Idriss” . After that we drive towards the Najjarine Fountain, and then the Batha Museum. On The way back to the Riad/hotel, we will stop to enjoy a panoramic view of the whole city.
Day 8 : transfer to the airoport Fes Sais
I will pick you up from your accommodation to the airoport in any time you want .
