4 days tour from Marrakech to Merzougua desert and then Fes city
Tour M5: Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Merzouga - Erg-Chebbi - Fes
Day 1 : Marrakech – high atlas – Ait Benhadou – Ouarzazate
I will pick you up at 8:00 am. We will start our journey by travelling across Tizi-N- Tishka atlas pass (2260m) with amazing views across the mountains to visit the UNESCO world heritage site “ Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah “ , it is a collection of clay buildings .La Kasbah is surrounded by a protective high thick wall against external attacks with many towers in. We have our lunch there, and then we head to Ouarzazate city; the Hollywood of Africa. We will visit the atlas studio where most American movies scenes were filmed such as “Gladiator” , “Lawrence of Arabia“ and “Game of Thrones“. Afterwards we move to our accommodation: riad/hotel.
Day 2 : Ouarzazate – Todra Gorges – Merzougua
After breakfast, Our second journey will start at 8:00 am . we will drive through many villages to Kallat Magouna city , which is well known of roses. We cross the valley of the roses and make a stop at roses cooperative to see how various products are produced of roses like shampoo, soap, perfume. Then we continue to Todra Gorges which is a water canyon that would be the first destination to mountaineering enthusiasts where you will enjoy walking around. Then we head to Tinjdad city to have lunch. Afterwards we go to make a very interesting stop at a berber shop where you can get your turbans and souvenirs, and then we will go our way directly to the hotel in Merzougua
Day 3 : Off-road desert tour – local nomadic families – the black desert – Quad bike drive on the dunes
Today we will have a small tour around Erg-Chebbi sand dunes, we will start our off-road desert adventure by visiting a village of the dark skin people ( Khamlia village) , they are of various African origins . They got a band composed of 5 or more people playing Gnawa music by different instruments. In that village we’re going to have lunch (Berber Pizza). Then our destination will be in the village of the mines, along with the local nomadic Berber families who still live in the desert, and then we drive to the black desert (volcanic stones). We will go back to Merougua to take an hour quad bike drive on the dunes, and then you’ll be carried by camels to an equipped camp in the middle of golden dunes that is flattering to both sunset and sunrise views. During the night, there is a band drumming around a lit fire.
Day 4 : Merzougua – Ziz Valley – Middle Atlas – Cedar Forest – Ifrane - Fes
There are a lot of natural landscapes to discover on our last day including , Ziz Valley ,
Middle Atlas Mountains , El Hassan Dakhil Dam which is located directly after Errachidia city. We
continue our road to Midelt city, Lunch will take place in Midelt city which is known of apples, and
then we head to cedar forest (apes habitat) to see monkeys in a striking environment. Finally, we go
our way straight to IFrane City and finally Fes City.
-Tour includes comfortable transportation, driver/guide who speaks your language, fuel. Hotel/ Riad/desert camp over-night stay.
